I converted to

Catholicism because of my wife and because of the inspiration

Pope John Paul has given to my life, so being here where he gave communion to

perhaps over a million Poles is just extraordinary. How strange in our time

today to hear that our faith in our moral traditions spoken as some kind of backwards

or oppressive force, when in fact it is really the moral foundation of our

country: the greatest country on the face of the Earth. Faith gives me a means of

organization, if you will,

in a deeply, profoundly important way. When I got to be Governor of the state of

Florida, I insisted that we build a culture of life. From beginning to end, it

was one of the guiding principles of my joyous experience. It's important in

just my private life and it was important when I was Governor, and it does give you
