Marco Rubio: My Whole Career Has Been About Reform

senator Rubio joins me now could nnj thank you thanks for having me on so you know I think you know they say when I hear that some folks they say well he's too young we tried the one

term senator last time around and it didn't work out that well what do you think of that well first and and the reason why didn't work out of my because it was only in the Senate for one term he

wasn't even in the Senate for one term the reason why didn't work out is because Barack Obama's ideas don't I don't care if he had been here for fifty years if

you try to grow government massively obamacare has failed foreign policy these things wouldn't work for anybody there

were going to work for John Kerry after many years and they were going to work for Barack Obama and for America and the second point I would make is my history up to this point is quite different than the president's today I

have you know I served nine years in the Florida legislature was the speaker of the Florida house the third largest they country

and author of the full Senate term before us were in his presence that includes my service on the intelligence committee and on the foreign relations committee so I because

but I'm ready to do this job in on the if I don't think a lot of people realize you and Ted Cruz are basically the same as I think you just look a little bit younger I

yesterday they said give you very strong points on foreign policy but they wonder if you are really a reformer you

are you won and who and what would you take on first of all my whole career has been about reform when I was in the Florida legislature before I became speaker we

went out and collected ideas from everyday Floridian thousands of ideas and we publish those in a book called a hundred ideas for Florida's future and

in a way now to actually implement the dot agenda passing all of those things out of the house more than half of the became law or Paul Florida

and then here in the lodge and in the Senate I constantly rolled out reform idea I think one Harry Reid was the Majority Leader they didn't get very far but whether

reforms on poverty program so on issue after issue you know we have them anyone who's into the race so far we're proud of that work and that's what our campaign will be built on yet

we're really going to do Paul say they're in favor of it but nobody ever falls through because then the lobbyists come in the lawyers come in the account lobbyists

come in and somehow it gets lost in the shuffle every time yeah I'm sorry locked up part I we have to do we actually have to do all three of the thing you

can't really do this George we have to become globally competitive again the twenty first century economy the global economy we have to compete with other country our

jobs and innovation that that's why we need to do tax reform I have a specific tax reform plan I'll actually be talking about it today at the heritage foundation along with Michael regulatory

reform we have a plan on that appeal and replace obamacare we have a plan on that and balancing our budget through entitlement reform second

to that is we need to help reform higher education we have to give people twenty first century skills twenty percent for jobs today

we're not doing that we're not training people to leave high school ready to go to work as a welder electrician and kids are borrowing money for

degrees they don't lead to job there is we have to rebuild our military we have to stop these very dangerous cuts

the defense spending and reinvigorate American foreign policy around the world we've been very outspoken speech simply about we would we

would do and that would immigration obviously is an issue that everybody very hot button issue where you're concerned your your critics say that that proposal that you had to build a rapport with amnesty courageous
