Breaking the #WashingtonCartel with Ted Cruz on the Chad Hasty Show

doing great chat it's always great to be with you well I appreciate your time today in our house the campaign trail you

off the charts you know you recall in the Senate race in Texas that that's the kind grassroots

passion that it that it that it built slowly through the campaign but as the election got closer and closer there

was just an energy from the ground it was it was Republican women it was young people it was a Spanish it

was small business owners that was he party leaders it was the grassroots Chad we're seeing that same thing coming

together in Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina it's incredibly encouraging I and and

is profoundly broke and I've seen it first hand but I am so optimistic because I think people

are waking up though the worse things get the more people are waking up and that's what it's going to take to turn things around it

you know senator I remember having you on my show when you're in the early days of your Senate campaign and

there are a lot of folks out there who gave you absolutely no shot at at beating %HESITATION David Dewhurst fo for uhh on

the Republican side and they were that there were people who set up the tent truces Ted Cruz but you're right you built up that grassroots support I

with those folks it is that Carrasco supporters that are as instrumental in your race right now for president as

it was back in that race for some absolutely it is the entire core I have the campaign you

know I'll give you one example which is a couple weeks ago I know all the campaign file their fundraising reports now

of the sixteen Republicans who are running I do you know which campaign raised the most hard money for the campaign that

would be %HESITATION though do you I that would be up we rate fourteen point three million

dollars in second place was Jeb bush with eleven point more about I told you three months ago that

we were going to I don't raise every Republican candidate in the field including I don't raising Jeb bush by three million dollars you

would have said I was barking at the moon crazy are you what are you kidding me everyone was predicting that right well

it and let me tell you why check because it really underscored the question about the grassroots fourteen point three million we raise came

from over a hundred and seventy five thousand contributions in all fifty states all five territories the

average contribution what eighty one dollars it was people all over the country who came to Ted Cruz dot org Ted Cruz dot org contributed do you know we

have had contributors from roughly half of the zip codes in America forty eight point one percent

of zip codes in America have one or more cruise campaign donors who've come to Ted Cruz dot org that
