you very much for delighted to have you time for truth I remember a book called time for truth written by my old friend bill Simon is

a similar %HESITATION well in in indeed I will say that that was at least a any pay part of the motivation and as you know bill

Simons a time for truth helped set the stage for the Reagan revolution that that pulled

this country back from the fiscal and economic brink that that helped restore America's role in the world and and and I think we're at a similar crisis

moment and and a similar moment where there is a desperate need to speak the truth about the challenges we face and speak the truth about how we overcome

those challenges well your candidate for president you're a formidable candidate president with a great intellect wanna explore

accomplishes with you but in general %HESITATION you've set a lot already and I will explore couple those things but what

is the biggest challenge problem what's what's what's at the heart of our of our discontent

it's up to sixty five percent and and and that has never been true your ear in a store and and and and I. student of our nation's history the

in the many centuries that we have existed that has never been true until this moment of time and

going to be reigniting the promise of America getting back to that fundamental commitment that our kids will

have a better life than we did their kids learn better life than they do and and I think that the key to doing so we're really three fold the number one we need to bring back jobs and growth and opportunity and you do that primarily

through tax reform and regulatory reform number two we need to defend our constitutional rights and

number three we need to restore America's leadership in the world you know a lot of what we do and a lot of what matters the most terms

of our attitudes our hope our hopes for the future is not of course but you would agree I think with with

the with Samuel Johnson how small of all that you and hearts endure that part which laws or kings can cause or cure are

are we actually ironically depending arguing that we should depend too much on government for our hopes for the future or

has government so messed it up that that's the first place to go to fix the border but yet you know I I would go to the latter listen there is no doubt and

that culture is immensely important there is no doubt that there is a need %HESITATION

many times that compared where we are now about to the late nineteen seventies and I think the parallels between Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama are

enormous where right now crappy in a six year period of stagnation what I call the great stagnation because

the federal government's policies of out of control spending and taxes and regulations are hammering small businesses and today we

have the smallest percentage of Americans working from there any year since nineteen seventy eight and
